    The Batesville Intermediate School’s Junior Ambassadors program recently wrapped up their annual fundraiser –students raised over $7,000 in one week for Save The Children –the funds are specifically going to help youth in sub-Saharan Africa.

    BATESVILLE, INDIANA — Sean Townsley, parent of two children in the Batesville   Community School Corporation (BCSC) and a successful marketing practitioner in the community, has been appointed to the BCSC school board, according to school superintendent Paul Ketcham and school board president Jeremy Raver. Townsley will complete the term recently vacated by Dr. Stephen Stein, who served on the board for 10 years.

    BATESVILLE –Seeing their intra-county rivals for the first time in two seasons May 5, the Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters had a top-heavy 4-1 victory over the Franklin County Lady Wildcats on the Batesville High School courts.

    2021 marks the 184th anniversary of the founding of Huntersville Evangelical Protestant Church, now known as St. John’s United Church of Christ. The founding of the church in 1836 marked the beginning of a community centered around  Huntersville platted in 1841. Huntersville is now the oldest part of present-day Batesville.

Skate Jam Fundraiser held on May 8
Photo by Noelle Maxwell The Batesville Area Skatepark Advocacy group hosted Skate Jam on Saturday, May 8 at the Sherman Biergarten. Community members were welcomed to learn about the family-friendly all-skate park set to be built. After the demonstrations, there was live music in the Biergarten by the group Five Lights.
