On Sept. 24, the Batesville Area Arts Council officially unveiled the Hill-Rom Clock Tower artwork. The German-themed metalwork by local artists Chaz Kaiser and Andrea Grimsley, is called “Holzhacker Buam,” which is Bavarian for “The Woodsmen.”

The project was funded by an NEA Our Town grant – Batesville applied for the grant in 2017, it was awarded the following year and due to COVID, the completion of the project was delayed one year. Holzhacker Buam is one of two
 public art installations funded by the NEA Our Town grant.
