A Southeast Indiana news media company is seeking applications for their next fundraiser.
In August, The 812 launched a fundraiser where the communtiy raised $3,000 for a Brookville teen who lost his mother, Jenni Fasbinder, in a horrific crash on US 52 in July. Police say the driver of the other vehicle was under the influence at the time of the crash. The funds assisted 19-year-old Sam Fasbinder as he goes to college. Prior to the fundraiser, he was unable to recieve insurance money or access to his family's finances due to his mother's death certificate not being made available.
The 812 is now seeking a local family, person or non-profit organization to assist financially or to make their dreams come true. The reciepient must reside in Ripley, Franklin, Decatur or Dearborn counties.
"Whether it is a sick child that dreams of a trip to Disney World, or a family who genuinely needs a hand up, we want to be here to support them," said The 812 Owner Steven Harmeyer. "What makes Southeast Indiana so special is how our communities have always helped out those in need and we're going to continue that tradition."
