Ordinance 11-2020 was passed in December 2020. The ordinance relates to the annexation of approximately 19.7 acres of land located at the corner of State Road 129 and County Road 1350 North, owned by LSL Holdings, LLC. The holding company, according to records obtained via inbiz.in.gov, was registered by Charlie Gillman. The subdivision will be called “The Landings” and will consist of eight lots with what's anticipated to be single-family dwellings covering an estimated 12.8 acres.

The remaining acreage will be retained by the owners, per Batesville mayor Mike Bettice, via phone call.
Bettice noted that Batesville, like many rural communities around Indiana, is dealing with a housing shortage, saying, “I outlined some of that in my State of the City address – we've always been open to when people contact us and [said] 'we'd like to build a subdivision' – and we've been accommodating to those people when they've wanted to build.”
